Seek God First; World Seeks Material Wealth
World forgets Him, everyone is too busy in their lives
Seeking God first is way too difficult for the world to do. Everybody is busy with their daily grind. Every household is hustling left and right when it comes to their lives and needs. We worry about too many things. Our hands are full and tight. It is almost impossible to overcome the struggles of everyday routine. How much more with surprise workloads that may suddenly arise. Somehow, the surprises are the ones that require immediate attention and gives us more headaches.
We want more wealth and that seems for sure. Desiring to earn more and having more of specific things in any way that certainly may well apply to everyone. That is with almost no exemption.
Or maybe we are just trying to get by and barely making it. We may be exerting too much effort and time without any success. We are barely surviving. And yet, we forget the real answers to our problems. We need to seek God first and not seek Him last.
Luke 12:30 For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
Growing you faith means you seek God first
God requires us to be a fighter. He wants us to fight a good fight of faith. He knows what we need before even really needing them. He wants us to believe and trust Him more. We should have a firmer and stronger personality. Our very own survival in this fast evolving cruel world is only by having more faith towards our God. Gaining more faith means a higher chance of survival against the works of the enemies including ourselves. Faith is crucial to combat our own delusions and fear. We have to face our own dilemmas. The test of faith is necessary. It is the only way to see how effective and powerful faith is. Faith can surely provide and can make impossible things possible but it will never happen without letting it flourish and bloom by itself. Sure thing, God can only prove the true meaning of faith by letting Him go in our hearts.
Luke 12:30 – If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
The world seeks material wealth more than it can consume
Daily providence and needs are things that we don’t have to worry according to the verse. The answer to this, will be greater faith. Through faith, He will provide our daily essentials namely food and drink. We just have to simply seek God’s kingdom.
Luke 12:31 – But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
However, most of us wanted more besides daily provisions, beyond food. Of course that is given, we all somehow desire more and bigger things in this world. Thus, it requires more elaboration from other verses and statements of our Lord Jesus Christ. The verse above is lacking. The complete version is at:
Matthew 6:33 – But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
In this verse it added the words “first” and “righteousness” which is a complete refinement of its prominence. You have to sacrifice and give more to Him not just simply seek His kingdom. It added the context of choosing Him first before anything else. Prioritizing God above all which is an utter failure of the whole world.
We can not expect lasting peace, comfort and happiness without choosing Him first. We need to seek and follow His righteousness until the end. As Christians, we should learn and try our very best to pick Him as our very first love and priority beyond all. Let us seek God first as He is the one who first loved us.
